What’s New in GATE 2027
- IIT Madras is the organizing institute — the 45th year of GATE.
- Syllabus revision: the first in five years. Check the final DA syllabus PDF before your last revision phase — our GATE DA Syllabus 2027 breakdown tracks the section-wise structure.
- 30 test papers, including the new Robotics and Automation (RA) paper.
- Two-paper combinations remain allowed — DA pairs with select papers.
- DigiLocker-based registration with facial recognition at exam hall entry.
- Score validity: 3 years from result declaration.
Who Is Eligible for GATE DA 2027?
Any candidate in the 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree, or who has completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, Commerce, Arts or Humanities, can apply. There is no age limit and no attempt limit. Students from BSc, BCA, BCom and BA backgrounds can also appear — one reason DA has become one of the most popular new GATE papers.
