- IIT Madras is the organizing institute — the 45th year of GATE.

- 30 test papers, including the new Robotics and Automation (RA) paper.
- Two-paper combinations remain allowed — DA pairs with select papers, so you can appear for DA plus one allowed second paper.

Who Is Eligible for GATE DA 2027?
Any candidate who is currently in the 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree, or has completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, Commerce, Arts or Humanities, can apply. There is no age limit and no attempt limit. Students from BSc, BCA, BCom and BA backgrounds can also appear — this is one reason the DA paper has become one of the most popular new GATE papers.
