GATE 2027 Qualifying Marks and Score Calculation
Qualifying marks (GEN) = max(25, min(40, μ + σ)), where μ and σ are the mean and standard deviation of all candidates’ marks in the paper. OBC-NCL/EWS get 90% of this and SC/ST/PwD about two-thirds.
GATE score = 350 + 550 × (M − Mq) / (M̄t − Mq), where M is your marks, Mq the general qualifying mark and M̄t the mean of the top 0.1% or top 10 candidates. For multi-session papers (CS and CE in 2026), raw marks are first normalised across sessions.
